Amazing Fall Vacation Locations

The fall season is an excellent time to visit various locations throughout the U.S. Many feel that it is the best time of the year to travel, due to mild weather and relaxing scenery that can only be found during the fall. Here are some of the best locations to visit before the cold winter months set in.

Arizona is a popular fall vacation destination. One of the best places to go while there is the Grand Canyon. Not only is the weather pleasant, but the park is less crowded in fall than almost any other time of the year. Those who visit to hike the North Rim Trail are urged to do it in September or early October. Others also choose the scenic route of the Grand Canyon Railway. Many plants and animals can be seen while visiting these destinations.

Another of Arizona’s ideal fall vacation spots is Sedona. From the middle of October to the middle of November is the recommended time to visit for those who want to view the best possible scenery. This is when the leaves change of the city’s many maple and oak trees. Some of the most colorful sights in Sedona during the fall include Oak Creek, Oak Creek Canyon, and the Baldwin Trail. Another highlight of a fall visit to Sedona is its Day of the Dead celebration. The celebration is held at the Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village and lasts about a month.

Between the states of Tennessee and North Carolina lies the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Its main attractions include various hiking trails and wildlife, as well as some breathtaking waterfalls. Many visitors also take a scenic drive through Blue Ridge Parkway and Clingmans Dome Road. From there, a popular stop is Asheville, North Carolina. The mountains surrounding the city are a sight to behold during October and the first half of November. Many will also head into Tennessee, where visitors flock to Gatlinburg’s Ober Gatlinburg Aerial Tramway.

Last but not least, Seattle has a lot to offer during the fall. A visit to the city isn’t complete without seeing the Mount Rainer National Park. Those visiting in November are also just in time for the Northwest Chocolate Festival.
