Planning a vacation right now probably seems like it would be the last thing you would do. With the pandemic still on the rise, many have canceled their summer vacations due to fear of possibly catching the novel coronavirus. But sometimes planning something can help us take our mind of the negatives at hand. The thought of putting our toes in warm, soft sand can help us pretended like the world around us doesn’t exist, and we can live in blissful happiness on our deserted island, but with all the necessities, of course, this isn’t Cast Away. You crave the fantastic food you usually have on vacation along with sleeping in and having no timeline, the world and beach are yours for the taking. But which beaches are considered the best? Whether your in for the lazy beach vacation or the best surfs, these are 5 of the most incredible beach vacations.

Riviera Maya, Mexico

This place is the source of the most fantastic food and beaches all at an affordable price and not too far from home if you live in the US. This stunning beach location resides just off of the Yucatan peninsula off of the Caribbean coast. The Mayan Rivera is home to a multitude of resort destinations that include Cancun, Playa del Carmen, and the beautiful island of Cozumel. This is a vacation where you don’t have to splurge on a fancy all-inclusive resort to find happiness here, but you won’t have a hard time taking a picture for your Instagram here.

Aitutaki, Cook Islands

This island, lined with beautiful palm trees and pristine waters, this island has close ties to its neighbor New Zealand. This stunning island is perfect for those would-be castaways. (still not referring to the movie.) This beautiful island has many locations where you can forget about the outside world and lay back and relax, and don’t forget Wilson.

Kaua’i, Hawaii

When you think of an ideal beach location, Hawaii is often the most typical thought of tropical vacations. With amazing green clifts and yellow sand beaches, this lava sculpted island is truly a masterpiece in itself. This island has a laid back slow feel compared to its sister islands Maui and Oahu. Known for being one of the rainiest islands on the planet and is comprised of various microclimates. Less traveled of the three sister islands. This one is sure to give you that native experience.

The Mamunca Islands, Fiji

The teal blue-green waters here will make you feel like you are living in a dream. This vacation destination is ideal for those who want to be bathed in sunshine and the smell of saltwater. You can take a short boat ride to the gateway island of Nadi. Dive in and snorkel through stunning coral reefs and take in the beautiful surroundings of fish and other sea creatures. But a fun fact is these are the actual chain of islands where Cast Away was filmed and the hit Television series Survivor.

Maldives

Known as one of the best honeymooning destinations, we saved this immaculate island for last. With nothing but blue skies and crystal clear water, you will think you have died and gone to heaven on this beach. With an array of different resorts, take your pick of staying onshore or in beautiful huts that feature plexiglass floor where you can gaze into the depths of the ocean below. You will find this location is the perfect place to get away and recharge while taking a dip into the warm crystal waters, and have an adventure while you snorkel and see copious amounts of sea life.

If you’re looking for a laid back beach laying vaca, sipping incredible mixed drinks and taking the occasional dip in the ocean, or a fun adventure filled with snorkeling or pretending you are Tom Hanks, any one of these fantastic places could be for you.
